Welcome Our Summer 2024 Intake Class: VIΣionΣ of B.L.U. We are thrilled to announce and welcome the newest members of the Trailblazing Tau Epsilon Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Our Summer 2024 Intake Class, known as the “Vision of BLU,” embodies the core values of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service that define our fraternity. Meet Our New Members: Travis Ward (Line name: H.N.I.Σ.) – Travis is a dedicated servant leader who views Sigma as an opportunity to make a lasting impact through collective action. His vision for his legacy is grounded in service to the community and a commitment to uplifting others. Michael Cobb (Line name: HeiΣenberg) – Michael is passionate about continuing the fight against oppression and racial inequity. He sees Sigma as a platform for civic action and community uplift, and he aims to leave a legacy of strong character and impactful service. Joe Watkins (Line name: TREacherouΣ) – Joe serves as the Mayor Pro Tem and City Councilor at Large for the City of Lexington. He has a deep commitment to public service and community betterment, and his leadership will undoubtedly strengthen our chapter. Courtney Crowson (Line name: Σmoke Σtack) – Courtney is the owner of the popular Lexington establishment, Smoke & Oak. He is deeply committed to community engagement and mentorship, and he brings a passion for service that aligns perfectly with the values of Phi Beta Sigma. A Bright Future Ahead The Vision of BLU represents the future of our chapter—a future rooted in leadership, service, and a shared commitment to making a difference. Each of these men has already shown their dedication to the ideals of Phi Beta Sigma, and we are excited to see how they will contribute to our mission. 2024 Southeastern Regional Conference Recap

2024 Southeastern Regional Conference Recap The Phi Beta Sigma Southeastern Regional Conference in Columbia, SC was a monumental gathering where chapters from across the region convened to celebrate brotherhood, leadership, and service. Among the highlights of the event was the installation of new officers for the state of North Carolina from the Tau Epsilon Sigma Chapter. Bro. Vendell Brooks assumed the role of Director of Publicity, while Bro. Damien Hammie and Bro. Rashad Beard were installed as Directors of Social Action and Collegiate Affairs, respectively. Tau Epsilon Sigma received notable recognition during the conference, reflecting the chapter’s commitment to excellence. Achieving the esteemed Diamond Membership Level underscores the chapter’s dedication to upholding the values of Phi Beta Sigma. Additionally, the chapter was honored by the International Director of Social Action and the International Director of BBB for their impactful work within the community. Celebrating Family and Fatherhood: Tau Epsilon Sigma Chapter’s Memorable Day Out The “Trailblazing” Tau Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. recently showcased their commitment to family values and the vital role of active fatherhood through a delightful and engaging event. On October 28th, the fraternity brothers, along with their children, embarked on a memorable “father date” to the Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park. This event was not just a day of fun and excitement but also a powerful demonstration of the fraternity’s dedication to nurturing strong family bonds and positive male role models. This event was more than just a day out; it was a testament to the values that the Tau Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. holds dear. By actively involving themselves in the lives of their children and the community, these fraternity members demonstrated the importance of father figures and mentors in shaping young lives. The event underscored the fraternity’s commitment to community service, family, and the development of strong, responsible leaders. Jumping into Fun: The day began at Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park, where fathers, uncles, and mentors from the fraternity spent quality time with their children. The park, known for its safe and exhilarating environment, provided the perfect setting for fun and bonding. THE INAGURAL VINE & VIBES: DERBY DAY PARTY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

Celebrating a Day of Elegance and Philanthropy: The Trailblazers Impact Foundation’s Inaugural Vine & Vibes: Derby Day Party The Trailblazers Impact Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering and supporting educational opportunities, recently hosted its much-anticipated Inaugural Vine & Vibes: Derby Day Party. This extraordinary event took place at the stunning Childress Vineyards in the heart of Lexington, NC, bringing together a vibrant community to celebrate the spirit of giving and raise funds for scholarships benefiting High School Students in Davidson County. The evening was filled with elegance, excitement, and a shared commitment to fostering education for a brighter future.   Supporting Education, One Sip at a Time: The Trailblazers Impact Foundation understands the power of education and its ability to transform lives. With this event, they sought to create a lasting impact on the community by raising funds for scholarships. The proceeds from the Inaugural Vine & Vibes: Derby Day Party will directly benefit deserving students at Lexington High School and High Point University, providing them with the financial support they need to pursue their academic dreams and aspirations. A Day of Elegance and Generosity: The Inaugural Vine & Vibes: Derby Day Party perfectly blended the time-honored traditions of the Kentucky Derby with the sophistication of a fine wine experience. Guests arrived in their finest attire, donning stylish hats and dapper suits, as they embraced the Derby spirit. The venue, Childress Vineyards, provided a picturesque backdrop with its rolling vineyards, charming architecture, and warm Southern hospitality, setting the stage for an unforgettable event. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2023 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS Micah recognizes the absence of up-to-date technology as a significant hindrance. He emphasizes the importance of addressing the technological limitations in education, aiming to use his education in computer engineering to improve access and affordability of reliable technology for low-income schools. His goal is to develop long-lasting and cost-effective computer components and devices that can keep up with the newest software, reducing the financial burdens faced by communities and removing the educational disadvantages they currently experience. Micah has chosen to further his education at Wake Forest University. Christian aims to assist victims of credit fraud. She has a fascination with the abundance and value of data, emphasizing the potential dangers when it falls into the wrong hands, as demonstrated by the Colonial Pipelines attack in May 2021. She intends to apply her skills to combat cyber threats, advocate for gender inclusivity in the IT and STEM fields, and support women pursuing their passions despite opposition. She recognizes the importance of data security in everyday technology and is dedicated to making devices safer. Madison is a rising Junior at High Point University. She aspires to become an elementary school teacher and aims to advance into administration to bring about positive change in the educational system, particularly in addressing the resource disparities faced by minority children. She believes in fostering equity and providing equal opportunities for all students. Having experienced the lack of representation during her education, she knows the importance of being a role model for children, especially for young African American women.
